Re: Centrepins with silent drag ?

I think you will find their are quite a few Pat, some better quality centerpin reels have a drag which is separate from the line out arm or clicker. Just can't think of their names of the top of my head but Grice and Young springs to mind, I have a couples of the Jecta's and a few various moochng re...

Re: Ages [slow forum connection]

Well whether they are dead or not, I am still having issues Andrew, is anyone else still having to wait ages for pages to load, or is it just me ? In all fairness Andrew it is intermittent and not every time I try to change or load a page, but when it does, it is taking about ten seconds to load :sa...

Re: (Vintage) Lure Porn

I have a few nice little MOP spinner and spoons, I have no idea of the makers as there are no makers marks or anything identifiable on them. I do however like them very much, in fact I find them very attractive to look at and would like to add a few more to my collection only, they are a bit pricey...

Re: Bill Norman ?

So have I Martin, Bomber Long A s are one of my go-to lures, no matter which water I pack the lure box for, they are always in there. But they don't have a cross-hatched finish like the Rebels or Bill Normans style ones, I was just wondering if anyone had noticed any difference in performance with t...

Re: reel stands

its a prong like attachment that screws in to the reel side plate opposite to the handle so that when youput the rod and reel down on the floor /rocks /sand the prong keeps it above this and avoids scuff marks scratches and sand getting in to the doings if you have paid out 500 for a saragosa you w...

Oh I see Dave, I thought it was going to be a fancy designed set of shelves or racking, specifically for storing your reels on, thanks.
You do realise you have to much time on your hands, don't you Dave ?

Re: Bill Norman ?

I do have one or two of these cross-hatch patterned lures but, personally I am not a big fan of them and never have been, just find it an odd finish for a lure and do not particularly like the look of it, I think maybe it's because it reminds me of the cheap Woollies ones I will have had at some poi...

Re: Bill Norman ?

They do have the internet in the Carribbean you know . . . :clown: My money is on it being a Bill Norman, due to the size. The 'crosshatch' pattern is more typical of the whole Bill Norman range - although, as Mark says, the early Rebel Minnows had a similar finish. There's an interesting time line...

Re: (Vintage) Lure Porn

Just checked on my eBay purchase history Dave, up to now, have not bought anything from her, I am however watching one or two of her items  . I am more inclined to by via an auction than buy-it-now priced stuff, more chance of a bargain IMO, unless it is something I really like, I don't do too...

Re: (Vintage) Lure Porn

It is very nice but at £75.00 inc postage it is also rather pricey, I find most of that sellers item are quite expensive John, and as a result I do not buy much from her.

I had a word with my friend who is a mechanic and he said (as has already been mentioned) that it could be valve seats not sealing as they should.
Anyway, it looks like you have a few options to work through Duncan, good luck, I hope you get it sorted.

Re: 4 Stroke Question for the mechanically minded.

There is nothing worse than a lumpy engine, especially when you do a lot of trolling as I do. I just fitted a new (to me) 20 HP Honda to my Strike and first time out it was doing my head in until I managed to get the adjustment right on the tick over, it took me a good couple of hours to fettle it b...
