New addition

I haven't seen a good mate of mine (falconer) for quite a while, so today took my other half with a case of beer for him, and flowers for his wife, for a visit. Apart from breeding birds of prey, he has also bred German Shorthaired Pointers and this is where we got our dog from several years ago and...

Cracking photo, Sir Dave of Lumbland, but I fear I'm a tad warped as the first thing that jumped out on me was the skull in the water :afraid: (Anyone else see it face) About a third of the way across to the right? It's peeping out from behind the shadow of the dark tree to the right of the sun. I'...

Re: Sparrowhawk takes down Jackdaw.

Great, anything that reduces the numbers of corvids is always welcome. We have a sparrow hawk that chases, and sometimes catches, the kingfishers on our river. For whatever reason it always hunts them downstream?? Any ideas why it would do this? Daffies and catkins out today  "Look ye also wh...

Re: at work with my partner

Austringers who imprint them, what is that? Is it where they pretend to-be their mum  Grant  Basically Grant, an imprint is a bird that is reared by a human and will grow up thinking that it is one of us and is our equal. The main reason for imprinting is for Artificial Insemination...

I loved that , I have ferrets and hunt with nets , I just love how fast the reactions of the hawk is ! Broadband speed !! Am interested in how the hawk reacts with the ferrets? , what stops him swooping down and nailing them ? Great vidio The hawks are trained to work with ferrets, and as the hawk ...
