The old brolly I have will be recovered, at least I know it will cope with what was thrown at it, a recover in the material of choice is preferred to something that is double the price and probably inferior

Out of interest what drennan rods are you guys using, looking to invest in a new rod , can't decide to buy new or go retro Original specimens in 12ft 1.25tc. That i have had since the nineties. The dry summer gave up field of barley that was wholecropped and then put into fodder **** ... The field been ploughed was an anomaly at that period, but it's not uncommon, but impressive i must admit

Duncan, the Abu reel, is the new reels the same quality as the ones you use or like most things now the internals get cheaper, fancy buying a pair to use and wondering new or used....cheers The c3 model is still a quality bit of kit, whether it's the same as those from 10/15+ years ago I am not 100...

Abu 6501 c3, reel for life, no need for banksticks, superior cranking power and clutch. Loud clicker, easy accessible parts and easy to service and repair. Avoid the S model like the plague. Would a fox kill a fawn that size, not convinced it would, looking at the field, obviously cut and rowed up for silage/Hay, more inclined to think the mower caught it in the headland, farming is fast and indiscriminate when it's mowing time especially with butterfly offset mowers ..my gut feeling is...

Echo Steve on spoons, my constant on any lure days, plus you can feel what the lure is doing through braid, a selection with weights and widths will ensure you search the column accurately

Jim, I heard good reports on Sakuma, how come you done a few seasons then change to partridge? Stew that’s a good question.
