Hello fellow pike fishermen/women!
I'm living in the middle of Sweden, in a less populated area with lots of lakes and rivers. Been fishing pike (mostly) for over 20 years and always without a boat (something that it quite uncommon here in Sweden).
After watching some videos from UK pike fishermen I got curious about the differences and similarities between fishing for the same species of fish in two different countries. Pike fishing is huge here in Sweden, it's the biggest and hardest fighting fish in our waters besides salmon, it can be found almost every where (including the Baltic sea) besides on the west coast (salt water) and we have a long tradition of pike fishing.
I hope to learn from your experiences and perhaps even be able to share some of my own with you!

Hi Tom
Thanks for the welcome!
And my name is Peter, sorry for not mentioning that in the first post.
From what I've seen on Youtube, really big rubber baits (25 cm/10 inches and larger) are not that common in the UK but they are making a comeback here the last couple of years. The downsizing trend we saw seem to have faded out a little and now you see (and hear!) more people using them again.
Regards
Peter

Hi Peter
You’d be surprised at how many people still carry a few big plastic lures in their bag .
