Good evening all, just thought I'd best pop in and say hello from the North East, I've been into fishing for most of my 48 years except for a few absences where I have taken up other rural sporting activities. I'm a bit of an allrounder when it comes to fishing, whether it be sea, course or fly fishing, I have done it all but lately, I've decided that pike are the fish giving me the most enjoyment and am looking to devote more time to targeting them.
A couple of my local waters have reasonable sized stocks of jacks to lower doubles to keep me satisfied for now, with the odd upper double here and there. Rumours have it of a 20+ on one water so that would be a nice PB to attain. My current PB pike has been a long standing 14lb10oz from over 30 years ago so its time to break that one.
With the rather poor weather conditions of late, I've not fished since late November but hping that January and February will give me enjoying some good action, or at least the opportunity to try for a bite.
Tight lines to you all and a Very Happy New Year.

Hi Paul, good intro!
I too have seen the light and turned my attentions to pike fishing over other forms of angling.
Ive recently been inspired by the writings of Bill Winship (Northern River Pike), it has opened my eyes to the potential of this part of the country.
Im just down the road from you and in my very inexperienced and humble opinion consider myself lucky to live in this area!!
Hope you manage to get the twenty in the water you mentioned.
Andy
