Yep, very easy DIY those reels.
Mr Lumb's rather excellent website will be of use here me thinks...

Re: ABU C3 SERVICING
Tony McTaggart is the man for this job. Full strip down, clean all parts, service & repair for a very modest price.

Wait!
Didnt you loose a part from another reel you opened up?
Get it serviced by someone who knows is the best advice, money well spent..........

I have used Unit5reelservice in Torquay in the past with no problems, but not sure whether they are still in business.

Sent my Revo off a couple of weeks ago on the thursday and it was back on Monday all done.
£18 for a service plus £7 postage i think.
Mine needed a few repairs but still reasonable and a recognised ABU official service point.
Love the hit!

A friend has offered to make me a new clip thingy, so I'll see how that goes after March 8th?

Failing that, it might be worth finding an Abu reel group on FB and posting there to see if anyone has a spare. I`ve done that myself in the past and managed to track down some pretty obscure bitsMark_Houghton wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01 2021 20:43 -Thanks Mark I had seen that but it's not the same as the 66,, thanks for a 6x the fast retrieve model, the one I have has an offset in it. Re: ABU C3 SERVICING
Took my 15 year old 5501 c3 apart, cleaning out a lot of grime and dried string weed. Didn't go into the main gears, but baby wiped all the components (body, inside side plate, spool, spindle etc) till they shined and applied some telflon grease (Halfords all weather lube from my bike) onto the line guide and into the gears.
It is like a different reel now, I can spin the handle like a centre pun and it's sooo smooth now and it doesn't shriek on a cast anymore.
Very helpful thread.
