I'd use wire for perch fishing.....

knot2kinky is what I use in 12lb

Braid type I use is Sunline Super PE for by UL setup.

For perch lure fishing I use spiderwire stealth smooth in 0.08mm rated to 16lb or 0.10mm rated to 20lb dependant upon snags, it has a really good knot strength. Using single hooks on a soft plastic or spinnerbait Seaguar fluorocarbon, for anything with trebles always wire.

.10-.13mm braid is spot on for me.
Braid diameter is more about abrasion resistance, as no perch, zander or pike will break well-knotted 0.10mm braid.
As I fish rocky rivers, even the 0.13mm braid is iffy at times, but I can imagine people going as light as 0.06mm on obstacle-free canals or similar.

As for trace material, try using wire when the method allows it.
Perch when active are anything but leader shy so better take precautions for the occasional pike.

I had a short session yesterday for perch using 10lb mono coupled to a Berkeley wire trace and a small silver spinner.I had loads of pike and a single perch.
Maybe the perch were trying to tell me something!

Shimano kairiki sx 8 in 0.07mm for ultra lighting or 0.10mm for stuff up to 15g.

I've tried fluoro and can honestly say it made naff all difference to my catch rate so I don't bother with it as I can't be arsed changing leaders when I go from a soft plastic to a crankbait.

Isnt it possible that if a predator is "on the hunt" our end tackle, so long as it's sensible may not deter a take. Obviously it's important to present said rig as effectively as possible which helps our progress /catch rate. I've used braid for perch and pike on large waters but mono suits me on smaller ones.

Another vote for DL’s 1 lb 6 oz Avon and JW 1 lb 4 oz, where much of my approach is long-range running legering with Rollovers and alarms.

Drat, sorry - meant to post on perch rods thread

Depends on location - commercials with little snags and no pike, I like to use 6lb braid to fluoro leader.
Waters pike present - 10lb braid, fluoro leader to wire...though I am starting to experiment with braid straight to wire and can't say I am noticing much difference so far.

It depends on which set up I’m chucking with, water type. Depth, etc… for the big ressies which is my usual target I’m using 15 or 18lb Suffix 131 on a baitcaster with Seaguar Ace Hard fluoro in 12lb as leader.

If using trebles and there’s a chance of pike I’ll use 13lb AFW Surflon Micro Supreme as a leader, I don’t want to lose expensive cranks or jerkbaits 😳
