Just a few lures painted to customer requirements (no extra charge either!)

I do like the look of the black with silver scale pattern ,very nice profile and a colour combo hard to beat.
In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

Well as far as I am concerned the customer is always right.

My lures are painted with the emphasis on contrast so the pike can't miss them. As testimony to this there is a small video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfcI-smY8g0 where a well known pike angler gets into a fish on his first cast with a Loz Harrop lure that his boating partner says he wouldn't buy.

Some lure makers paint lures to catch anglers, my lures are painted to catch fish.

Nice lures there Loz, I've found that you can be quite creative when it comes to lure patterns and colours as there's no one winning formula. Never had any luck with brighter patterns myself though so most of my lures are fairly dark.

The yellow on red perch pattern is a great catcher, I think the black bars add the contrast needed. There is a short video here of this pattern in use. If you listen you can hear the other angler say he wouldn't buy that lure (I found out later it was because he doesn't use bright lures)

I seem to remember Charlie Bettell didn't even paint his (or some of) lures and he used to do quite well.

I Don't lure fish anymore and never did much anyway (must get round to selling the gear) so have never come to any personal conclusions as to whether colour is as important as action and silhouette??
