I use 0.8 stainless welding wire, available from B&Q. A pair of round nose pliers.
. To make the corkscrews I wrap the wire around various sizes of nails to suit the lure

Personally I go a bit heavier and use 1mm wire. There is a certain type of pliers with a round jaw and a flat jaw., which are great for making the body pins. Can’t mind the technical name for them but they were recommended on this site.
There are some excellent videos on YouTube on making the corkscrews.

Don't bother making corkscrews, Kell at lure factors does two sizes, they're perfect, and cheap.
My harnesses are made from 1.2mm stainless welding wire, mainly because I get it free!

All you need is a pair of round nosed pliers to form a loop, and a vise to hold the loop whilst you make the wraps is one more useful tool.
I use 1mm stainless too for most applications such as traces and harnesses.
