Not myself but I have seen them used on deepwater jigs abroad.
The skin doesn't stand up to repeated attacks of toothy critters, but it doesn't peel off so 20plus fish is possible before its wrecked.
I understand a similar skin is used on the latest Burts.

I had one large sample skin , got a couple of jerkbaits from a bargain bin in the local tackle shop .
Cut the skin in two and covered the two lures . Simple to do and only took seconds .
Next session out had a 17lber on the larger one , the only fish of the day !
