The value they calculate includes the Air Mail, so assuming your £165.00 includes the Air Mail costs I’d say you’ll be paying / ransomed for around £45.00 +

My rule of thumb.
Whatever the price in the US (in $) that is the figure you will have payed in £s when the item/s are in your hands.
Imports of tackle into the EU are subject to 24% tax, on every cent you spend outside the EU this includes thr packing, shipping, insurance, every damn cent!
And Ive even had the Post Office charge me extra for collecting those damn EU taxes as well.

Wait until weve made a trade deal with Trump, my quess is import duty will drop to 10% or thereabouts.

In all the years I have imported I have never had the shipping included into the equation, just the actual cost, import fee/handling charge etc..

Likewise, I cant recall ever being stung when it was the shipping costs that bumped the total over the duty threshold....only when the item cost itself exceeded it.

Thats the luck of the draw I suppose and I would say that you have been very fortunate, unfortunately my luck runs in completely the opposite direction, I get stung more often that not
