Cost of fly lures
How much do you think it would cost to get someone to make some lures like this?

Re: Cost of fly lures
The deer hair perch/mice will take a while as could the swim bait- unfortunately they will cost quite a bit. It takes time to make good deer hair patterns and they are not that robust.
Bottom one is way simpler but going rate is about a £5 from Fullimg Mill

These were working pre lockdown and the travel restrictions.
You can bump them along the bottom, twitch them etc. £3.50 a pop.

Re: Cost of fly lures
I’ve bought plenty of flies from here, they’re not cheap but very good. Not seen him doing the spun deer hair style flies but he does tie the Buford which is the bottom fly

I also buy from MSCustomFlies, his MartinsMinnows are deadly for Perch and the odd Pike likes a chew on them too.

If you can't get hold of any jig flies the other option is to buy normal pike flies and some Chebaruska heads or just add a small weight on the clip at the same time as sliding the fly on the clip.

Re: Cost of fly lures
Hi Grant,
Why dont you tie your own using hair extensions.
They are the same the girls use, mix in some xmas tinsel, Ive even used horse hair collected off fences and strips cut from rubber gloves, anything to get movement will do it.
Lash it on so the hook rides point up, if you want it to wobble use a dumbbell weight below the hook eye, or fold your own from sheet lead and a hammer.
A small stinger out the back can be a day saver but can result in tangles.

The reason why tyers use deer hair is that it is hollow so it floats naturally, but strips off a rubber glove also float as do many synthetic hair extensions.
Recycled cork from table mats can be ideal for adding buoyancy.
For sealing everything a head made from a dollop of basic sealant is ideal, soft, long lasting and totally waterproof and can also be used to make realistic bodies.
Braid makes good tieing thread and superglue will stop it unwinding when tying. Wrappings on bronze hooks can allow rusting underneath so I use stainless Mustad 34007 O'Shaughnessy pattern.
Ive always looked at options that saved a bob or two
