Musky Spinnerbait Shafts

Post by royboy »

Looking for some 12" wire shafts to make some large sized pike / musky spinnerbaits .

All i`m finding is links for welding rods ..... not sure if these are suitable ......

Best stuff I've found is the 1.5mm diameter 5m coils sold by lureparts.nl

It's spring tempered and perfect for spinnerbaits, but being a coil it does need a little straightening. The other downside is that I'm told lureparts have a substantial minimum order for UK orders now.

I tried to source decent spring temper stainless wire in 1.2 to 1.6mm in the UK, but drew a complete blank

Welding wire is completely useless for spinnerbaits. It will constantly get bent and need bending back, which will lead to failure.

Some coastal tackle shops sell high tensile stainless wire for those who moukd their own breakaway leads.
It is a hard wire that is thinner than welding rods and can be formed to make spinner stems.

Mark has that much stuff he doesn't know what is list and what isn't...
He actually doesn't know what he has in the man cave at all. Sometimes he tells me he hasn't got any buy I never go home empty handed...even my daughter has her pockets full usually. :exit:
