Huge Wobblers

Post by Bailesy »

Hi, does anyone know where you can get 20cm+ wobbler lures? The search term I’ve been using has led me to some websites which I had to shield from my wife’s view. Thanks in advance.

Googling "25cm crankbait" gives a few options.

No clue what you're after mate, do you mean Hawg Wobbler? As in Mouldy's surface lure?

I'm thinking he means wobbler as in plug Mark, a prehistoric term for crankbait

The thought did cross my mind. I think ze Germans also use the term wobbler for a crank bait. Hence, StrikePro's 'Jonny Vobbler' :laughs:

I've done quite well with this bad boy I got from the States. Besides some big pike , it's also got a few double figure brownies on its scorecard, obviously not intentional captures. Trolls to 36ft, made of high density plastic, very tough. Another lure from Hooker Tackle I use a lot is the smaller 7" Seducer, that trolls to 15ft, a very handy depth band and has caught me several double figure zander. Brilliant crankbaits. Look to the States for your big cranks, but don't look at your bank statement afterwards, bloody expensive now

They arnt something I use much these days Mark. In the early days I had that big lure = big fish dream.
But I rarely use a lure over 7" these days . I've found lures from 120mm to 150mm are spot on for my trolling.
I sold most of my huge lures.

Totally agree about that 15 ft depth band. 👌
It's a great depth even on the big deep glacial lochs.

Ask this guy to make what you want https://www.robinsonluresuk.co.uk/
He is a forum sponsor and has made lures for me and a fishing friend, the same guy who this year had three 20's from Chew when everyone else was blanking.

I’ve had success with Salmo and rate them, but Fladen seem very poorly constructed unless I’ve just been unlucky.
