42lb braid

Post by Bigjarvo »

Will this be to heavy for a 14-40grm medium rod? Never used proper spin rods before so just wondering 💪

Not really just gives you less distance casting. Current trend is for silly fine lines meaning that it takes forger to land a big fish which is not good

It will be fine as long as you're using a reel with a large enough spool to manage the line properly.

Brilliant thanks for the replys. Was only wondering as with have surplus whiplash left over that was all. I shall get a slightly lighter one then what recommend 20/30?

on 15-50gr rod i use 35-40lb braid, have no issues landing good fish( 20+), you can control them enough.

i only go heavier for bigger lures and snaggy waters tbh
