You could always go to the pub in Crossmichael or New Galloway if that's your scene.

Be careful with what they let you do there, Carl. They'll charge you for putting your boat up their bank, even if you've paid them to pitch a tent on their site.
I asked about my car (I sleep in it)-wanted a charge (fair enough). Boat trailer-wanted a charge (hmmm... it's a feckin field the size of Hampden Park). Then I said I'd be putting my boat up the bank-wanted a charge for that innaw. It's not the lassies in the shop that's the problem but the owner.
I telt them tae go and fling shiite at themselves.

They are very well know for charging for everything under the sun, additional cars, kiddies tents, dogs, awnings, the list goes on.
However it is a nice site, just gets a bit busy at times, as they all do at times I suppose.

It is and that was the 3rd time I'd been last summer but they were just coming-the-c@nt in the end.
They priced my mate out of his caravan as well. He'd been there years too.

Possibly won't affect the majority of guys on this forum, but I've been told that there's been a few incidents of the padlock at the public slip being sabotaged. I've heard it was superglued. Just a warning if anyone is going there.
I've only heard this 3rd hand, but if it's true it sounds like someone is severely scunnered at the whole situation.

Anyone who has already registered, I have a question for you.
Do you need to take proof of insurance with you when you register your boat if your motor is above a certain size,(I think that it was anything above 6HP needed insurance) ?

Went today and launched fae the public slip. Smee's laddie appeared to check if there was any damage to the padlock, but there wasn't.
I asked him why he was checking "Has there been sabotage on the padlock?" I asked him. He said no, but it's the first time I've ever seen anyone at the slip checking the padlock!
Anyhoo, business as usual as far as I can see.

It`ll be his downfall....I`m surprised someone hasn`t already ripped the gate off or chopped it with a stihl saw. Wonder if the taxman knows about this key revenue too.....i`d wager not, especially as its cash only...

I doubt it very much Mark. When I checked to see what kind of padlock they were using it was a Β£10 one from Wilkos. Hardly high security. You can open them with a pair of pliers and a hammer.
I also see that he has acquired the old red rangers plastic toy boat.( for heehaw I believe).
