Radex 8500 trailer lights

Post by neil hardiker » Wed Jul 21 2021 20:58

Just inherited a trailer with these fitted - whilst the claim is they’re ‘waterproof’ the fitting in the rear of the lamp looks a bit pisch.

Anyone got any experience of them?

Thanks,

Neil,
Not familiar with the make but I ordered submersible LED lights and mine came as waterproof and I`m sure the seal between the front glass and rubber surround requires some silicone sealer to stop water ingression.
On the original set (they came fully wired with 7 meters of cable) I lost half of the side lights on the one side from a few sea trips before the shutdown and replaced them last week.
I would seal any area you feel are suspect just to be sure.
Regards,
Chris Donovan

Thanks Chris,
They don’t look as robust as the LED Autolamp lights I fitted to my Quintrex, that’s for sure.
