I bought one of these this year and have used it about ten times. Not expensive, but very compact and with handy multiple power options. I found that charging it via the USB port was enough for a whole day session. You can switch to ordinary batteries if the in-built battery runs out - and you can wind it up if all else fails.

Don't expect hi-fi quality for this price, but more than OK for listening to basic radio tunes and banter. And it's 'fishing' green and has a built in LED torch!

This is a current eBay listing,, but you might find one slightly cheaper if you bother to trawl the net.

Sony xdr p1 is the best fishing radio I have found.

Small, strong receiver and can be recharged from a power pack for longer sessions.

Mine has been wet a few times in the boat and hasnt suffered.

I use a pure 400d, the charge lasts for days, and it's bombproof. It's discontinued now but I'm sure they'll do an equivalent model.

Pure Move T4, built in rechargeable battery, runs/charges off battery pack/solar panel controller
Sound quality is great, much better than the original Pure Move I have which has started to misbehave

I got a DAB from Aldi some time ago, it was either £14 or £17, can't quite recall. The batteries last ages.

It's an Envivo dab with FM tuner and there's one on the bay at the moment for £14.99
