Would it be beneficial to use a bigger bait at a bigger venue? The lake where I am currently going isn't very big at all and I am using sprats and roach (in packets from the shop) but I have been invited along to a big deep pit in late November so would I need to have bigger baits Mackerel and Herrings etc??
I know I will have to increase my trace strength/length and bigger trebles if I use bigger baits.
size of venue/size of bait

Re: size of venue/size of bait
Not necessarily, fish are fish regardless of the size of the venue, take different sized baits and see what they fancy on the day, theres nothing to say a 30lber may fancy a sprat, and a 10lber may fancy a whole herring.
See if you can find out a bit of what people are catching on, and base your attack from there, if its producing fish on a regular basis you may also find that a particular bait is currently outfishing others.

use same trace strength/length with either big or small baits
