Hello everyone..
Fishing down in England for the first time on Monday and Tuesday next week and really looking forward to it.
Quick question about the rod license.
Totally forgot i would need a rod license to "allow" me to fish, I am going to buy it today, am I allowed to present a digital copy of it when asked or are you supposed to produce a physical copy of it like a card or somthing?

Re: Rod License
You will be issued a number in an email/text.
Either screen shot it or print it off. As long as you have some means of showing ref number.
Well done for getting one.
The chances of being asked is the same as a ranger on the Big Loch.

10 years in the Big Loch and never been asked once
I'm no heading down the Lake District from Ayrshire to be met with some muppets attitude over a rod license

Re: Rod License
Your get a warm welcome this side of the wall from our license checking ghosts
All else fails “No Speaky English!” Will se them on their way.
Unlike your Rangers. Someone posted on here last year that a ranger pulled up to check permit.
Photo evidence not acceptable. The angler had purchased but it was in his vehicle at the slip
he should have read the instructions on the Permit
He had to go and produce it.

Re: Rod License
I belive the EA now have a paperless 'digital' option now when you buy a licence.
I've presented a screenshot of my card licence (on my phone) before now without problem.
On one occasion, just presenting a photo ID with my name and postcode was enough for an EA officer to use the hand held device he carried to confirm I had a valid licence.

"He's some sort of lure savant. Or just has an unhealthy addiction to old lures. We are not quite sure . . . . . "
