Theres 2 dead deer been dumped 60 yds away, maybe they will attract them. Feckers dont half whiff a bit when the wind swings :laughs:
Any good Kev? I went last night but not a run.
Two half hearted runs on worms so could have been anything the half dace was untouched.
Was just a tiny land drain, perhaps half a mile long and 20ft wide, seemed a lack of tiddlers in it didnt see a single fish top.
I expect the 2 deer didnt do much for the water quality

Tonight's spot, brilliant watching 3 lots of warblers straight across from me feeding their young, 3 nests in about 10 yds of brambles and nettles

Shirley has demanded her own rod, and is now quite adept at catching suitable sized roach

Just had absolute carnage ,eels of 3.12,4.07 and 4.02 in 20mins! First night on this lake as well. I've only dabbled with eel fishing before this season so a result and PB

Back on the pond again.
3 carp to 12lb on half a 5inch roach
These feckers are driving me up the wall
Bonus tonight, saw a barn owl flying around and quartering a rough field, saw it hover then drop down then off to the nest box in a big ash tree with some unlucky rodent

I've had another couple of goes.Had one Saturday night of 4.12. A dropped run just before was probably the same one and the only other run all night. Went again Tuesday night and fished until midnight, no runs.
From what I've read the full moon period isn't the best. Warming up a bit next week and a new moon next weekend.

Talking to a chap on Wessex water/Bw and he was discussing a certain concrete bowl and some good size eels, I've seen them come in on some chopped sardine there which was good to see, but nothing over 2 ish lb...
The engineer was discussing the filter beds where they would then return to the main body ...

I've seen them there as well Stew, some trapped in the bottom of one of the towers and also seen then coming in close when I was tench fishing at dusk a few times. Nothing huge as you say but I'm sure it's thrown up a few in the past. Shame you can't night fish it though that doesn't seem to stop the EEs if rumours are correct!
