Wee question, Pete:
Do you ever pre-bait an area of canal in winter? Say, under a bridge or a likely looking feature?
Cheers!

Not often but I did once when I got about 200 Lobworms off the football fiel, I halved half and mixed them with a pint of red maggots and I fished the day after and I must admit I battered them.
The fish aren't there in the numbers now so I tend to move around searching for small groups of fish, the big fish might move away after being caught as you don't seam to get repeats.

Do you have a kindle ash. ? Its a great way to read p&p cos you can browse the contents first and if there's something that interests you buy it if not you don't.
Also and this is for the Scottish guys mostly is winter perch fishing actually worth it up here . ? I've tried parts of the canal and a few lochs that I know have a good head of perch and failed to catch a single one.

It's issue 230 Ash.
I don't subscribe to it and struggle to find it in shops so I just buy the issue I want. I read it on my laptop,
It says all normal formats can be used, including iPad.

Thanks Pete. That's pretty much what I've found.

Aye it's not worth it really on the big glacials Fergie but there's still some ponds and shallow wee lochs that you can catch them in. Small windows of opportunity wi the weather though with some of them.
