Catfish fishing - Batchelors do

Post by piker60 »

First of all apologies. Not sure that this should be on this section of the forum.

A friend is getting married in August and has asked me to organise a pre-wedding stag do cat fishing somewhere on the continent.

None of us has cat-fished before, but most have the gear, and have fished for other large predatory fish. Any suggestions who we should use as guides for this? I would like to see him get his string pulled before the big day  . Where (maybe the Ebro or Po) ,who with and when please? Your suggestions and experience with this would be much appreciated  .

Bit of a circus but the Ebro at Mequinenza or Caspe...I've not been their guided, but seen the guides in action.

That's exactly what we did for my mate stag we went with Catmaster tours can't complain professional company but afterwards we did feel like the fishing was done for us if you know what I mean we just played the fish in and had photos. If I were to go again I'd want to fish for them predator style!

What about an Atlantic Blue Marlin?
Less than 3hrs from Heathrow.
We got our first grander same month last year and that 'pulled a bit' :laughs:
You could even take turns in the fighting chair so you didn't get him back shattered.
PM me if your interested.

Catfish tours are the guys for you mate, much more diverse than the others, Edd Brett is the main guide with Gareth Edward's.
I can pm you Gareth's UK mumbers if you want mate?.
These guys have or still hold some of the Ebro records.

Po may be more of a challenge but the methods, the water, the fish are going to be more 'rewarding' imo

I'd Ebro it with guides if I were yous? Nice weather - decent facilities along the bank, when away from the fishing and BIG cats and Carp!

Ebro crazy Cats is run by a fella called Paul Booth who is very very able and a nice laid back dude too!

(Let us know how you get on face)
