What optic equipment do you use to take photos while fishing?

Post by PaulBrenningam »

Please tell me who has what preferences in equipment for video or photo shooting during fishing or travelling?
Why exactly it? Its parameters and technical characteristics?
What kind of equipment do you use - camera, camera, other gadgets with shooting function (monoculars, binoculars, etc.)?

Thank you!

Phone and ngt tripod and remote. No lugging around heavy kit I also have phone holders screwed into bank sticks for my roving outfits and a remote in each tackle box.

Phone and a bluetooth remote from Amazon. Plus a flexible phone clamp that can be attached to the boat or a tackle box. Previously used a Cannon DSLR, tripod etc but the hassle of carrying an extra bag isn't worth it now that phone cameras are decent.

+1
Phone plus cheap Amazon tripod and remote, plus small gorilla type mount for tricky spots. Phones now are plenty good enough for fishing photos, no need for lugging anything else around...
Marcraft are for queers.

Generally I use my phone as so much easier than lugging around all the camera kit

Bang on. My brother uses Rhino Beams for night shots when carping on his syndicate. I borrowed it once for Zandering on the fens but blanked.

My current "mid range" Samsung A33 takes better pics than my old Canon S5is. I reckon camera sales for the common man must have plummeted since the improvement of phone cameras.

The whole camera market is in decline. The 'point and shoot' market has collapsed pretty much altogether as they've been replaced by phones.

I reckon the new market is the vlogging phone complete with furry mic

Indeed.

They're selling dedicated vlogging cameras and camera kits these days trying to catch that market.

Still use a Canon G5 with separate flash, mounted on a mini tripod complete with a remote shutter release, takes excellent photos.
