zeds and fish bits

Post by steo »

just wondering what the view is on using fish chunks as zander bait
instead of whole fish.
problem being the water i get my baits from is only throwing up big roach and i mean big at the moment smallest i got today was about 6 inches all were returned to the water but it has put the planned weekend trip on hold Image

I regularly use 'chunks', especially when I'm running low on bait.....

Chunks of fish can be a very good bait for Zeds!

How big was it?

The half herring is my first choice of dead-bait in the winter.

I like to use 3-4" Roach or Rudd, sometimes slightly bigger but I'll take the heads off though some of my mates use Eel and Lamprey sections, smaller than Pike bait size though.
