Morning Poolsider,

Well the summer is on its way out and we are all starting to think of the golden leaves of Autumn and the first frost that traditional means its the piking season.

But "Is it Worth It" :suspect:

So put down the paper for 5 minutes and relate to the short musings from a pit regular.

Enjoy!

:laughs: Very entertaining read that mate and certainly food for thought.
I must be old (and wise) before my time... I've never been one for getting out my pit if its wild.

Interesting findings though Tony, I've just has a quick look over my top 20 and the times look like this.

6 till 8............... 3
8 till 10.............. 2
10 till 12............. 6
12 till 2............... 1
2 till 4 ............... 3
4 till 6 .............. 3
6 till 8 ............ 2

I don't know if you can read too much into this, there's too many other factors than just the time. Perhaps time in relation to sunrise and sunset? Or maybe I fish more at certain times... etc

Good read that tony

It definatly takes some motivation at times to get up when you can hear it hammering windows and your tired from a week at work, but if its your only chance for week to go I like to be out early for a full day on fishing day, even if your on an "afternoon water" caught my PB on a real shitty day were I had to think twice about getting up and took a soaking so if you get out their theirs always a chance

That boy ain't right :laughs: :laughs:
You may be onto something there Tony, thinking back most of my bigger fish have come from noon onward, still wouldn't stop me getting up three hours before i go to bed though, would be interesting to see if the majority have had there best or bigger fish early or late.

Thanks for the comments, ( cant believe Webbo edited my favourite sentence out, took me ages work that one out :laughs: )

To be fair i know there will be factors that affect the question , such as , available time and location etc, ( how many anglers turn up mid-morning to start fishing at chew ), but my point being it wont be the end of the world if you decide to roll over and just have another hour in bed when the weather is baltic, and always stick at it , fish can come at anytime, as the old saying goes if got a bait in the water your in with a chance.

I agree with your article completely Tony! Still get out of bed for the early morning start some of the time but for the most part my best fishing has been from 9.30 - 12 and in the late afternoon also, so if I sleep in a bit these days I dont worry too much!

Fishing legend KC rarely gets out of bed before midday and I don't do AM fishing too often either!

I enjoyed that Tone but tread carefully!

(I've been nicked for lesser offences than you allude to face) :laughs:

i need to get up before sunrise to stand any chance of getting setup for lunch time.

when im asked, why do you go fishing or why so early ? well its because of scenes like this:

Another great read from the Pool team. Well done Tony and Jason that was a treat.

Really good to see the Pool still rumbling on after what, at least a couple of years now? I hope a few others are planning on sharing their stories too.
