I'm really glad you're liking it. It was nice writing it safe in the knowledge it was going to people who enjoy reading about lures getting smacked and are into fishing literature anyway

Reading this tonight with a large Malt I'm blown away. What brilliant writing, Jake.

May i ask what your history is with writing and the written word ? This surly cant be the result of an occasional amateur writers whim.

Thanks so much Rob, and all others who've taken the trouble to read it and let me know it's been enjoyed.

Rob, I've not really got any history of writing. I enjoyed English at school but left at 16 with nothing better than a 1980's CSE for the subject. That's as far as any qualification goes :laughs:
I actually do struggle to make myself sit down and write something. I'm terrible for not motivating myself to get on with it...you've no idea how long this tale you've just read took me to do  If I wrote books for a living I'd starve :laughs:

But it's all worth it when a very decent bunch of lads on a forum say they've liked it

Amazing! I hope you don't mind me asking Jake, what do you do for a living?

Tell me you don't bump bricks or mix muck like Hammy?

Dave, I work as a self-employed assistant to several local firms of solicitors...generally doing much of their simple out-of-office stuff like going and taking statements, etc.

I do have a few other (factual) things I've written that are based on early angling experiences but I started from scratch with the Pool article because I didn't want to bore you all with tales of dinky trout, etc :laughs: :laughs:

Loved that Jake, not going perching today what with the weather, but after reading your part one on the biggest fish of all. I might just have a couple of hours this afternoon.
