Pike Pool 10 (Pete Webster)

Post by Emma Hamilton »

An absolute corking article " Targeting Big Perch " by Pete Webster is up on the "Pool" tonight. Dust the avon rods off and be inspired.

Enjoy !

This is a great article....never even thought of that.

Perch are shoal fish and hang around in groups containing fish of a similar
size so if you catch one get your rod back in as soon as possible as there will
probably be more in the swim willing to feed, I also employ a keep net when
fishing for large Perch as I believe that to return one in to the swim will
certainly curtail any further action for a while.

That was slightly tongue in cheek Pete, I do get some, just not on the big un's so far, but I haven't really tried hard either. It's been just the occasional half day.

What have been your most successful months? My trouble is that the traditional periods are at either end of the pike season and I find it hard to switch away from the pike.

March is probably my fave just cos they are at their biggest then but i agree they can get in the way of the Pike fishing,
