Ps known as a Miller's thumb as they are about the same size and shape as a man's thumb.

It was a decent size Bullhead, my mate had never seen one that size!

First glance I thought it was a Ruffe, that would have been a new species for me as well.

It looks a good one. Not even remotely like a ruffe though mate.

Caught a ‘monster’ Gudgeon when I was a teenager, match fishing on the river. Never seen another one like it in the 30’odd years since.

My lad caught his first one last year, brought back memories of when I was young as he loved it.

I caught one on worm in a stream. As a kid there, used to turn up stones in the shallows and catch them by hand - also loach and lamprey.
