Don't know a lot. Had a big one (6lb+), from a commercial carp water a few years back. For a few seconds, before netting, thought i had a record smashing roach! I had it on luncheon meat, if that's of any help!

Shallow spraying maggots usually brings them up in the water, good method for ide unless there are loads of tiddlers in there aswell Image

Hi everyone and greetings from sunny Vienna!

I did not know they were around in the UK. Have caught a fair few of them in the Danube , very aggressive fish and incredibly powerfull. Normally seem to be found in fast water under weir will sills - if feeding they will seemingly attack any lure you throw at them. tbh , on occasions I have stopped trying to catch them as it got a bit boring. Biggest about 7 or 8 lbs. In German they are Rapfen I think.. on the other hand maybe something different. Like big chub on steroids at chucking out time. Strong and angry!
