A duffer...lol...far from that!!
So when is Daiwa bringing out a fly rod for Preds? ;)
Fox managed it by taking a spinning rod blank and adding snake guides :)

I'm having to use a Daiwa 9 weight rod, they have no dedicated 10 or 11 weight other than a 15ft salmon rod! Trying to get that sorted.

One of the best Pike fly rods I ever had was on a Daiwa blank, a 10'3" Kevlar 8/9/10 beast of a thing from the 90's. With a 10 weight shooting head you could cast miles! Even handled lead core shooting heads in the sea for angry Pollock. Still have it at home although re-rung as I wore the guides out!
Their new range of top end fly rods are really rather nice...especially their river specials.

Re: Airflo Sniper 40+... reel capacity problem
Hi,
I recntly bought a Snowbee Classic #9/11 reel, and loaded a Sniper 40+ #10 line, on top of 50m SpiderWire Stealth Smooth x12 50lb briad (leftover from re-spooling lure fishing reel) as backing. There is still loads of room. I think I could have got 100m+ of backing on there (of any type) no problem. The reel is cheap - paid £48 for it - and decent quality (drag is smooth and progressive)
Hope this helps anyone trying to use this excellent fly line.
Simon
