I have just heard that Vic Beyer has passed away after a long period of illness.
He was the inspiration I required after two fruitless years trying to catch Roach from the Hamshire Avon, gently guiding my focus onto a place that gave me the finest Roach fishing I have ever experienced.
RIP my good friend, we will miss you.

Re: Death of Vic Beyer
I managed to chat with Vic and Dave Howes a few years back at Dave Steuart's book launch at The Lands End pub in Twyford. A friend knew them being a "Roach Head" himself. Vic and also Dave Howes and Dave Steuart came across as very unassuming guys. My friend the lucky sod had a ticket for the Longford Estate, sadly they do not allow guest tickets on the fishery.
The Roach they caught were awe inspiring.
Myself and Dave Steuart, this being 2011.
RIP Vic.
