Nice fish Antony
What weight was it ?
I’ve always fancied having a go for the tope myself ( one day )

Alan did you manage to get out on the wash with your boat and if you did,did you manage to catch a tope ?
Not yet, got all the kit now and finally happy with the boat, planning on having a go around may time. Tried the boat this weekend on the local river after some extra un anticipated repairs were needed

Good luck with the sea fishing, there’s nothing better then spending a few hours on your own boat,I can’t wait till it’s warm enough and fair enough to get out there on my own little boat 😊
My tope weighed 79lb and because Wales protects all species of sharks I didn’t have to bring it ashore to get it weighed to claim the Welsh record thank God.Watching it swim back down to freedom was by far the best thing I have witnessed while fishing on a boat.

Congratulations on your record fish.
Nothing more satisfying than hooking a fish that strips off a few hundred yards and your not worried about lossing it.
