Hempseed
Looking to take some hempseed to France and was wondering who is the best supplier, all I have found so far is rather expensive or standard stuff.
I know hemp has gone up a lot over the last few years but £3 a kilo from Hinders for example and when I was going to take about 50kg
Cheers Alan

Re: Hempseed
Alan you would do better taking a parti-bend mix such as pigeon conditioner,
much cheaper and has more Variety.
Maze French carp love it,
most fishery owners feed it to them over winter along with their preferred Pellet.
We normally get 1kg tins of sweetcorn from the Super U on the way,
adding that to the cooked maze For more attraction and a sweeter hook bait.
I have also had great results using groats they soak up quickly and mixed with a couple of tins of condensed milk the scent trail lingers for along time, but like hemp they can come in Hoover up and move off without a beep.
I have found hemp hit and miss with French carp, mostly miss.
They will either get their heads down sift Out the hemp and move off without touching your hook bait,
or you will attract all the small fish in the lake To feast on your hook bait.
Where they will whittle it down to the hair, but normally end up attracting small pike who will quite happily pick up
Your hook bait.

Thankfully there are none of those little pesky cat fish but there are crayfish, with this in mind what would be your preferred baiting method? I read that hemp was good if crays were about???

Explaining that to customs could be interesting.

Re: Hempseed
Personally I would take the pigeon conditioner mix, or pay extra when it gets a carping label parti-blend
If you take hemp feed sparingly.
It's the silver fish that attack your bait,
Don't put particle over all your rods at once, if you bait an area under 5 feet deep you will know when the carp have found it.
Ref Ronnie & Reggie, try hard hookers (no crofty )
Or wrap your hook bait.
Going to the dark side now not sure if this link will work as its a kkkkkkoooorrrrrddddaaa

Keep any crays you catch in a bucket of fresh water. Change the water regularly, after a couple of days they will
Be clean. Put in a saucepan boil for 3-4 mins. De she'll place between two slices of bread with mayo and black pepper

I think I may well end up going with boilies and find a supermarket for corn and how much were you paying for kilo tins?
I have eaten crayfish before, very nice but for me, not worth the bother.

Re: Hempseed
Tins of sweet corn are about 10 pence cheaper in France for a standard tin
but Lidl will prob be under €2 per kilo.
But the French brands have better kernels than ours
A lot of them are full kernels which mount better on the hair.

Re: Hempseed
I would have a search for pigeon corn suppliers near you. I sell pigeon conditioner at £12.35/20kgs & hemp at £19.95/15kgs.
