I fancy having a go at upping my chub pb before the river season ends and I hear that this river does some decent fish and is not to far from me,does anybody know which angling clubs control it especially the upper reaches any info would be gratefully received
Cheers

Re: River wa##eney
Spent a lot of time on it several years ago and it was indeed a good chub venue, have some fond memories of it in its prime, like most Broadland rivers its suffered with various problems over the past few years and it's not what it was . Still a few fish about that have avoided otters in pockets ,but I wouldn't go expecting the six and seven pounders of years gone by. I would suggest it's now a pretty average chub river. Take a Look at the Bungay, harleston and diss clubs

Re: River wa##eney
Not the river it used to be. 3 reasons why..
1) Influx of otters released from Earsham Otter trust when it closed.
2) Use of pesticides on surrounding fields
3) EE people eating fish. A mate of mine witness a chap (who purposely didn't speak English) catch a 15lb pike down Beccles Quay and throw it in the back of his car.
