Memory in old line

Post by Stewlaws »

Any way of removing memory on a fly line that's been stored ? Was thinking boiling water and unspooling it straight out on itself prior to respooling ... 6wt line make unknown. Cheers chaps

All done now, unspooled and pinched the line from start to finish, took several times but line lay is flat now as opposed to pigtails ...could feel the one untwisting as I ran it the entire length.... Saves me a new line !

Sounds like you got it sorted, if it happens again I found giving a firm stretch, doing about a yard at a time sorts the problem
