(No wonder the captor wants to keep the venue quiet and the crowds at bay. Smart move on his part and good luck to him! ).

Cracking looking fish, immense size is that.

Re: Monster perch
I would love to see a Perch of that magnitude at first hand, preferably when unhooking it from one of my own lures.

Funny how he doesn't want to claim a record or talk of the venue but was ok to shout about it in the national angling mags. Hypocrisy at it's best, and it's not solar grapes.

Re: Monster perch
I started fishing the ned rig with Zman lures last winter and can say they absolutely transformed my season. I caught a massive number of perch to over 3lb along with pike, I now fish them on either a 6 or 12lb knot2kinky trace to avoid bite offs and haven't found a decrease in the number of fish doing so. Fishing the Trent off the boat a couple of times around a month or so ago two of us had over 150 perch on one session and 80 the other along with a couple of pike up to mid double.

Jesus that is a beast. Think my legs would go weak if I seen that coming towards my net.
Would love if the quality of perch fishing in Ireland was like the UK

Belting fish. I wonder if the digital scales have anything to do with not claiming the record? I have a notion they aren't allowed for record claims.
