The only Stillwater fishing I do in winter these days is chasing big roach.
It’s pretty boring fishing (mostly long range feeder fishing) - so I much prefer my winter river fishing.
In the past I’ve winter carp fished which can be productive as the fish are sometimes very predictable.

Pick your days…..and your species.
I’m lucky ‘cause I’m semi retired.
Also in hot weather I have to keep covered up as I suffer with skin cancer. So I fish much more in winter.
