1 Shakespeare agility Rough Ground , 13 ft ......see above

1 Shakespeare agility surf , 13 ft ....clean ground

1 Shakespeare Salt XT , 13 ft ......mixed ground

Reels

3 Daiwa Opus Bull .......very strong short range rough ground fixed spool

1 Penn Battle 3 longcast 7000.....longer distance rough ground reel

1 Penn Spinfisher longcast 7500 ......as above

Rigs are short pulleys 20 inch lead side , 18 inch hook side with rotten bottom link

Two hook flappers with rotten bottom for rough

Bait .....try to keep it simple , frozen mackeral with squid , sandeel and squid or crab and squid

2 x Leeda Icon elite match rods 13ft 10” coupled with a pair of Diawa 7ht multis (the black ones) spooled with 18lb Diawa sensor yellow with Diawa tapered leaders.

Go to rigs are two hook clipped down rigs with size 1/0-2/0 sakuma mantra hooks

Bait ranges from mackerel, to squid, razors, peelers or lugworm, dependent on species and location. Mackerel are caught and frozen down, squid is brought in, razors, peelers and lug are all sourced from my local beach.

Pretty much mate, a lot of my marks fish over sand/mud or over shale/clay. Don’t have any snaggy rock marks or tackle graveyards as such

Two old pike rods and big pit reels, I tend to go just a few times a year on the east coast so is enough gear for what I do!

when it comes to beachcasting gear i have collected a lot over the years ....
4xrods tricast , browning , shakespear ,okuma ,did have a nice century rod but could not get to grips with it ....to stiff for me ....sold it to a mate
reels abu, 7000 , shimanos , a few jap reels ......as i mostly boat fish weather permitting ......
but i will be targeting a tope from the rock marks this summer.....

I had tatty old gear I used to use but upgraded a few years ago to a pair of Penn rampage 13ft surf rods and Penn Surfblaster 8000 reels. They do the job for what I do, sn I’ve hit some half reasonable distances pendulum casting with them.
I’ve just treated myself to a pair of Shakey GX-2 ugly stick boat rods with Penn warfare winches to use from the kayak which I’m looking forward to using in anger very soon.
And apart from that, I’ve got a HTO nebula rod paired with a Shimmy Ci4 I use lure fishing for bass. Quite a modest collection compared to the amount I think I need for my fresh water exploits :red:

I fish rough ground from the shore but don't like pokey , stiff rods

Prefer a bit of give

Had a ron thompson accelerator, gave it away , like a scaffold pole

Recently bought an Akios 435 fury and paired it with a Penn Surfblaster. Dramatic difference to the cheap beachcaster combo I had. Some serious power but a soft enough tip to register bites. Hoping for a tope on it later in the year
