its just another gimmick for anglers that cant fish properly, they are that desperate to catch having spent £3k on camping... I mean carping gear..

That looks like the hook has somehow gone all the way through the lip and snagged the landing net mesh when the fish was netted, pulling the entire hooklink through up to the "twig". That's a very rare situation and not really the fault of the gizmo on the hooklink.

Just want to chuck my 2penny worth into this debate.
I've done a lot of carp fishing over the years and guess what, you dobt need all this bollox..
I was full timing it at one point and fished alk types of waters.
Never used a lead clip at all, hate the things.
On water tgat hadn't had much pressure then a simple running rig works every time but on pressured waters a rig where they can't use the lead to get rid of the hook is the way to go..
Carp fishing is becoming part of the fashio industry, its a f@@kibg joke it really is..
And people fall for it, the latest rig etc etc
Ray Brown.
You got to do what you want to do when you want to do it..

Just more unnecessary end tackle to sell. Pointless as far as I’m concerned. What’s wrong with a decent rig and sharp hook? Why do we need spring loaded elements in our rigs? A local lake banned it almost immediately after testing found it picked up weed when open.

Not for me or it seems an increasing number of local waters. It really is not in thr spirit of angling in any form
