Have to say the video of Al Hamidi choking up whilst talking about this rig was embarrassing to say the least. You'd think he's discovered a cure for cancer. Makes me question the sanity of some of these fellas.

Surely a hair rigged boilie attached to a very heavy lead is a self hooking rig is it not? Just saying.
You wouldn’t understand. Not many carp in Ireland.

As someone who likes a cheaper deal i give you the discounted magic twig in 3 different colours.

I will have one of each please...
No problem, stocks are quite low at the moment but rest assured as soon as my contract in the trade manages to get some in I will let you know 😁
I recycle a few at home but the Mrs is not happy with her pictures laying on the floor!

I have watched the video on page one a few times now and Im sure thanks to a very sharp hook that the fish has been pricked before the twig moves, then it looks like the twig activates as the lead moves and the fish shakes its head and drives the hook home. In this scenario, the twig was pointless!

Yeah, I wasn't sure, I think he would have had that fish anyway even without the magic twig, I want to get one, just to play with it.I messed around with a bit of pole elastic on my hook link at one time,My latest rig is still in the trial stage as I have not had a bite while using it, who knows ................this time next year.
Nothing wrong with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Its everyone else.

That’s the way I seen it too, I think the hook had pricked already and a good heavy lead would have pulled it home anyway, then hand sharpened hooks are deadly

Just the weight of the hooklink itself is enough to prick my finger with these ultra sharp hooks and the skin on my builders fingers is a lot tougher than a fishes mouth.

Does anyone remember Trigger leads,Tim paisley gave them a right pasting in his carptalk editorial and they quickly disappeared from the carp scene just as I expect twigs to

Were they the ones where the lead was fished helicopter style but they had a large eye loop? Big Fish Adventure first sold them or is this something Nash did?

No, that was the Tadpole leads. Truly lethal and badly thought out.

Good news Sheeple.
A local fishery that opted to have an open mind towards the rig has finished their month long test in Five Days and they are welcoming the Twig @ their fishery!

That’s how I read it Bill. They are only 30 miles from head office of OMC.

At last, now I can purchase a bit of plastic to use as a shock absorber! If only someone would design a rod and line to do the same🤔 WTF.

The comments are the best. “At last a forward thinking fishery. Can’t wait to purchase these.”
But no comment to what happened when if it caught the top of the net and stopped the fish from reaching the bottom of the net?

Wouldn’t be so bad if it was made from recycled plastic. But you not only wastefully leave a lead behind but you get excess packaging from a tree to wrap a twig :laughs:

If a carp gets into weed, then its the lead that stops you getting it out.? But that scenario does'nt seem to apply with other fish? With the numbers of carpers in the uk, the water levels in their lakes will be rising due to numbers of dropped leads. Carp anglers can be sold anything.

I bet the eel lads are p****d off at the use of 'Twig' as the name for a carp rig that's getting flak for being dangerous when their Twig Rig seems to do a great job of preventing deep hooking of eels. I wonder if OMC have trade marked the name and will try to stop the eel anglers calling their rig The Twig Rig!

True. And Korda the day after? :giggle:

It seems we all have to tune in to OMD, sorry OMC, on Youtube tomorrow at half six to see a video of how to set up and use their magical innovation. Should be interesting.
