I'm not defending the bloke or slating him but I'm sure that filming most likely involves a lot of this sort of thing whatever is being filmed.
I think sometimes while we're all watching our screens we forget that there is a team of people behind the scenes on location aiding and advising re running scene's and scenarios to give and or create the ideal footage. There's obviously a lot to it than what meets the eye.

Agreed, wasn’t even the great David Attenborough accused at some point?

I've actually no idea about that but in this day and age we should be more concerned about the welfare of living fauna being filmed.

Now that I have seen it, its obvious that was not the 1st time they have done it and I can t tell who the angler is but I take it that it is Bowler.
Will Drennan keep him on?
The fact is that its part of the worst things about modern angling and how very fecking sad of him!
Being a good angler is more than just about what you catch, in a way its a lifestyle or even a code, anyone who re hooks a fish for the camera so as to play the fish back in is not an angler let alone a good one!

Think he finished up with Drennan around the end of last year? It might put a bit of an angle on things?

If I recall it was utterly ridiculous the complaints imo. Basically it was mother and newborn polar bear filmed in captivity sleeping under the snow on frozen planet. People were p****d they didnt tell them the footage wasnt of wild bears despite showing perfectly what he was teaching us about them.

There is no place for re-hooking fish for video's, if it is true it's appalling

Hopefully it isn't true

I have a feeling that not only it is true, but to some, if required to complete a video then its the norm!

you want to see the crap carp anglers get up too....

anything to sell a few products...pics with other peoples fish...its been going on for long time, even the re hooking of fish for the cameras or leaving fish in slings all night..

fishing is nothing like it used to be, from the state of the rivers to carp angling ultimately dominating and ruining it.

The popularity of carp fishing (and the associated profitability) has certainly been responsible for restricting the access to all but the privileged few to many waters. Carp waters often hold decent pike that are seldom/never fished for, but in most cases you just can't get a ticket, even if you were happy to pay the eye-watering carp tax for your pike fishing

Over in the states influencers change shirts over and over with Steelhead, Bull Trout etc between photos.

Changing of the hat or jumper happens a lot closer to home.

If you "hope he will survive" why did you start the thread in the first place?

By starting such a thread a neutral could easily believe you were trying to stir things up rather than let whatever happened find its own balance.

Nothing new when it comes to presenters etc. Paul young was apparently doing it on canal many many years ago heard from the person who was there at the time, an old boy I've no reason to doubt with paul wanting his pike to hook on his own gear for the camera. No doubt in my mind a s**t load of unethical things to us goes on with these celebs.
