Tench Fishing
I would like to know if tench seem to switch on the take in canals sooner than lakes and does depth off water have alot to do with them going on the feed.I fish a lake and you seem to be wasting your time until july fishing it mabey its water temp any info appreciated.

Tench start to feed hard when the water temperature hits double figures, they can be caught below that, but it's usually slower going.

Agree seems temp driven - my local tench population has gone mad with recent high temps be interesting to see if the recent drop slows them down

Seems to me a bit of prebaiting definitely helps - currently using a mix of 6mm pelleted, hemp, maize & corn- had six yesterday
