Re: Anyone catching???
I've been doing ok on the river, only one blank in about ten sessions. I've done a few overnighters though and had a couple of 4am blank savers!!
The Barbel seemed really lean until about two weeks ago, I think a lot of fish spawned twice in the erratic weather we had. They are recovering nicely now though and starting to fight hard.
Roll on the dark nights, on the bank until 1am is no good on a school night!!

Was out this afternoon trying out some homemade avon floats. Had a dozen or so chub to around 4lb. Lost a very good chub when I straightened the hook in an effort to stop it getting into some roots

Re: Anyone catching???
Been struggling with some tench on a local lake the last few weeks, getting a few but most of 'em been giving me the finger.! Still, that can be the way with late summer tench...
Some of the nights have been chilly lately, and i can hear my pike rods rustling in the corner of the shed..!

Re: Anyone catching???
Went breaming yesterday, a very good day, they were rolling as soon as I got there. Had 9 bream for just over 100lbs, 8 of them were doubles upto 12lb 12oz, switched off at 10.30am and then got pestered by small rudd and roach (which just happened to be the right size for another piscatorial use:D )

Bream, snotty fookin boilie thieves
Had a few skimmers today, loads of small silvers and a **** about 5lb. All from a tiny club lake not even a 1/4 acre in size.
Made a nice change fishing the wag and mag instead of sitting behind static baits for once.

Re: Anyone catching???
Was out on sunday but out of three takes i only managed a small jack ( comedy of errors so it was )
Last wee while has not been too bad as i have taken a new PB tench of 4.5-5lbs ( digi sclaes ran out of juice:evil: ), New pb perch of 2lbs 1oz, a pb carp of 9lbs 10oz and a PB golden orfe of 4lbs
I am hoping that this run of good luck continues into the winter

I have been targeting perch for the 1st time over the last month or so, had a great time just fishing short 2 hour sessions with 2x 3s and 6x2s and loads of smaller ones being caught from 5 different venue's locally.

Re: Anyone catching???
I had a chub 5lb exactly on my first session on the river Sow back in July:)
Had a few more to 4lb 8oz since then and half a dozen or so bream between 4lb and 5lb 10oz (river pb)
Gonna have a go for perch any day now, then get on the piking after the frosts start.
Here's hoping we have a better winter than the last two...
