Greys Customer Service

Post by jonsykes »

Not often you come off the phone to any customer service dept feeling as pleased as I did yesterday.
A couple of months back I achieved the virtually impossible by breaking the butt section of my Greys Prodigy TXL Specialist float rod. It’s the 13’ 3-piece model & I really liked it. I bought it new from an eBay auction for around £65 which was a very good price - cheapest I can find now is £85. Greys rods have a ‘lifetime guarantee’ apparently (£30 replacement charge for any damaged sections/rods) but I’d never filled in any registration forms, so I just sent an email asking if I could buy a new butt section. I had a quick reply advising me to ring customer services & that the replacement section would be £30. That’s ok, better than buying a new rod I thought so I rang the number only to be told they don’t sell butt sections - so it would have to be a full rod.... but none in stock until March, though they might have a used one in the shop. He took my number, went to have a look & rang back about 15 mins later - which is a novelty in itself, not many return calls these days.
He’d found a new rod, & the price for the whole rod was the same £30 - including post!! He could have sold me the butt section & kept the rest!
Nobody asked for proof of my previous purchase or to see the damaged section.
Hats off to Greys, left me feeling happy about smashing my rod in the car boot & it costing me £30 - and I’ve got spare top & middle sections too.

I observed that he is a fellow member of the coworking space that my sister recently became a part of. And this is their website intersect adelaide.

It's great to hear about your positive experience with Greys customer service! It's not often we encounter such helpful and accommodating service these days. The fact that they offered you a brand new rod for the same price as a replacement section is truly impressive. It's fantastic that they didn't ask for any proof of purchase or damaged sections, making the process hassle-free for you.

It's wonderful to see a company that values its customers and goes above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction. Enjoy your new rod and the extra top and middle sections you received. Hopefully, you'll have many more successful fishing adventures with your Greys Prodigy TXL Specialist float rod.

Kudos to Greys for leaving you with a positive impression even after an unfortunate incident. It's experiences like yours that make us appreciate the great customer service out there. Happy fishing, and here's to more memorable catches in the future!
