Dark Mode - new feature

Post by Andrew »

We now have a Dark mode feature for use on desktop and mobile at night, or day if you like.

There are two ways to enable depending on if you are on desktop browser or mobile browser.

On Desktop:
it is located next to your username and private message link
pitdakrmodedesktop.png
On Mobile
it is in the menu drop down on the Left

Dark themes are difficult to pull off and as some of you are aging at an alarming rate your eyesight might not be what it once was and as such if it causes you eye strain let me know and I can tweak the colours to something we can all get along with.

Just trying this out.
It was ok with Andrew’s post but when Will replied his text is black on grey which is definitely not as clear.
I normally prefer the darker tones

That’s weird
Now I’m the last post mines black and Wills isn’t anymore?

I looked at it, but did not like the icon flashing in the corner "Asking me to take the Knee". Not for me Crofty.

Is it possible to go lighter on the text and darker on background? It's all a bit like looking through a dirty window in dark view.

That's the worst combination for me and other people. White on black background makes me feel queasy after a while and the white lines (text) still visible after looking away, like looking at a bright light. Trying to find a middle ground. Still tweaking though seeing what works.

Now your reply is very dark text over the grey background :dizzy:

Will.
I am back to the normal screen Andrew, the darker screen mode does not suit me TBH.

Thank you for your efforts as always.

That's alright, it's not for everyone. Not too keen on dark mode on websites myself but some people get a benefit from it I suppose

Thanks for this. Always prefer dark themed sites. Been using this a couple of days now. One thing I did notice was there is no colour bar under usernames. Not sure if this was by design.

Yeah. I removed it to keep the vibrant colors down to a minimum

I can’t get it
It’s not in my drop down menu and when I click on the link at the top it just refreshes in normal light mode ?

I’ve never been good with tech

Edit:- oops ! Found it, there was a little moon in the top right corner :red:
