The Incompleat Piker
Some truly great recipes for cooking pike in there and lots of pictures of jacks too. Plus some good contributions from serious pikers.

Some fella called Rogowski.
Who proofread and / or edited it is the more pressing concern.

Going to the convention next week and see Little egret press have a stand. As in Danny's post is it any good ? £35 seems a bit pricey and looking on the bay Cochy books appear to have sold only one copy in the past year ?

Re: The Incompleat Piker
I eat pike in Athens of all places over 25 years ago.
Based on that one experience I would recommend the following recipe:
Fillet your pike and marinate the fillets for a few days with chopped onion, carrot, potato and celery plus loads of pepper, a couple of chopped chillies and a pinch of salt (plus any herbs you are looking to get rid of). To keep this all compact place two lengths of balsa wood on top of the pan to keep the fish and vegetables together.
After a couple of days, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
Then throw away the fillets and eat the balsa wood.....................

Just trying to make a name for himself.
I have one of his books and all it is good for is lighting a fire.

But are the contributors chapters any good? Got hold of his pike fishing the UK. Good stuff from Steve hinks and Mark ackerleys chapter on Irish waters is good. His 34 from mask is awesome.
I'll just get hold of a copy, I'd be interested in Craig renwicks and Rob Christensen material.

I have been asking George Higgins to write a book for years.
Him and his band of mates (Especially Roy Smyth) have some truly great stories.
And I have been lucky to have shared a few.
