Historical carp waters by Chris Ball
Another gem from the Little Egret Press stable apparently.
I did not buy a copy as I have the author's first book.
My mate bought a copy and said the Redmire chapter was basically just a rehash of the chapter
in the first book and he struggled to find a page where there was not a spelling mistake on.
Why are modern fishing books not properly proof read ?

Not read the Chris Ball book, only what I've been told , but probably like you Si bought the Amies book
when he launched it at the PAC convention a few years back. The Amies book is on a different level
though I can't imagine this carp book could possibly be as bad as that.
Funny thing is the Amies book , with all the spelling mistakes, is probably worth more than what I paid.

Didn't Derrick Amies bin a whole of the 1st editon in a pique of, shall we say frustration, at there being so many mistakes, hence the value has gone up. I have the 2nd edition/reprint, and despite there still being quite a few errors, it is still a very good book.

Think he only did a couple of hundred copies of the first edition.
It is a good book though despite the spelling mistakes.

I've never fished the broads.piker60 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18 2017 20:58 -I know it gets knocked but I think it's a pretty good book too. The average modern angling book generally doesn't require the use of such a thing.
