The Carp Strikes Back by Rod Hutchinson
In my view the best carp book there has ever been.
Very funny in places and good story telling of Rod's exploits on Savay lake and other venues.
Guest stories and some technical insight from a master angler and leading bait-maker too who could convey his thoughts in such an easy style for one to read.
One book i return to read over and again over the years and thoroughly enjoy on each occasion.

I have to agree, certainly yes best carp book and possibly the best fishing book ever written.
Had it "permanent" loan from the library as a kid, and now proudly have red and black copies sitting in my collection.
Perfect blend of humour, insight and inspiration.
Still remember "doing a fred" myself back in the day.

Sold my copy plus others like John Sidley's River Piking to fund my Lumby barbel rods many years ago. One of my favourite books.

Brilliant read. Even if your not a carp angler, its well worth your time. Im lucky enough to have a first edition signed by rod, which i will never let go.

Re: The Carp Strikes Back by Rod Hutchinson
Got two paperback copies of this bought for me by mistake this Christmas
If anyone has anything they fancy swapping one for?
(Apologies if in the wrong thread but as I’m not selling thought it might be ok on here?)
Feel free to move it

Great book and a great bloke. I once attended a talk in a small room (in Letchworth If my memory isnt letting me down.) with Rod and Chris sitting on a stage in armchairs and reminiscing. Rod came across as a regular gent. He reminded me of big Dave Kelbrick a big gruff fellow with a heart of gold. RIP fellas
I don't care who your dad is , you're not walking across the river when I'm fishing!

You won`t regret it and when you`ve read that try and get a copy of "The Savay Chronicles" which I have only just come across and it is even better
