REDeye by Mick cutler and various other contributors

Post by Muskie »

REDeye is a compendium of chapters from various contributors and all are about Tench and the methods to catch them and a chapter on tench genetics and breeding.

Mick Cutler has organised some very high profile contributors including Dave Harman etc to write about their tench exploits and i thoroughly enjoyed reading the book.

Its all nicely put together with excellent photos some useful maps of venues, line drawings and a superb Chris Turnbull cover print of a tench.

The book is from Harper books so is of fine quality.

I can highly recommend it and it adds to Esox Lucius as a five star rated book from me too.

Just received my copy and read the first couple of chapters. The books already got me hooked and a quick flick through the rest has gotten the juices flowing for sure, there's some cracking pictures of some amazing looking Tench. As with all "harper" books, the quality is second to none. Really pleased with this book! Glad i saw your post Muskie!

Many thanks Muskie and Mike F, your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Apologies for not replying sooner. Aside from being busy on the following, I've been waiting for Harper Fine Angling Books to make an announcement:-

https://www.facebook.com/HarperFineAngl ... 1133177382

So this is the next book Muskie! Although it was started before the last 2, and has been an on-going mammoth task, particularly given the large cast and extensive original artwork.

In fact, it was started 8 years ago for the benefit of Angling Projects for Kids' (and a 'retirement project' for me!). Time and care has been taken and we've done everyone involved proud, as well as producing a book worthy of a great cause.

If it sells anywhere near as good as 'ESOX lucius' we'll all be delighted!

Thanks again!

Thanks muncherpike! Really good to hear your feedback. Amazed at how many did when it first came out on a 'whisper'. Indeed, released in September 2021, it was only last month when HFAB emailed customers. We're delighted with sales (45 leathers and 10 vellums sold-out early) but I think it's safe to say, when the hardbacks are gone, there won't be a re-print. Best wishes and thanks again!

Thanks mate. Going to convention but just thought I could pick up a copy there and save on postage. It's tough out there as everybody else can vouch for so if you've got a chance to save a few pennies why not take it !!!

Steve - Yes, you can. Harper Fine Books will be there on Saturday with copies. Enjoy the day!

Dave - Many thanks. Hope it meets expectations. Tench fishing doesn't have the rich history and diversity of piking, but we've done our best and there's still plenty to offer. Also, it's safe to say, you won't find another book with so many big tench - where virtually all have never been publicised before.

Tight lines!
